Why me no post?

Long time no post! But that's just because I’ve been dedicating my time to earning my sport shooting licence in pistol, rifle and shotgun. So I had to prepare for 4 exams.

In Poland, getting a sport shooting licence means not only proving you can handle a firearm (separate exam for each firearm category), but also passing exams on safety and gun laws. So, since there is a bit to learn - and I don't have whole days to myself - I poured every spare minute I had into preparing to nail the exams on the first try.

But now all exam passed, so I have more time again to write. And maybe even for more YT activity, mehopes.

The configurable pouch

Recently I was working on a small, MOLLE attached, configurable pouch for, yeah, you know it, sport shooters xD Though, more with air gun shooters in mind.

confi pouch attached

The pouch has a pretty straightforward form.

I'm going for something minimalistic here and without any fancy details.

The basic concept is to have a compact pouch, which will fit 2 pellet packs and a row of CO2 cartridges... Or 4 pellet packs... Or 2 rows of cartridges, :) You just configure it as you wish.
The pouch is lined with velour-like fabric designed to work with hook tape attachments. So you can just stick your chosen attachment into the pouch, depending on what you need.

I've also added a stiffener, because I want the pouch to stay firm and hold its shape, whether it's empty or not.

I've only prototyped, not finishing everything.

From finishing touches, I only sewed nylon binding around the edges with the stiffener as I wanted to know how it will behave - both during and after sewing, when I turn the pouch inside to the inside.

The overall shape turned out great, and the pouch fits everything it was meant to.”

But now I'm waiting to restock my Cordura supply and I'm hunting for the velour-like fabric, which will meet my expectation and make me happy.

Cordura is no problemo. Lots of people sew with it, so no problem finding it in my local suppliers. Except for the 500D maybe... Everyone wants 1000D so no one bothers to stock 500D. Unless I buy few rolls, so the wholesaler will order it from the manufacturer for me... But anyway, I'm ranting now.

The final thought is that the pouch is now on hold until I find the right velour fabric. The one I used for the prototype is too thin for my liking and doesn't stick to the hook tape firmly enough.

I've ordered some velour from Germany, but I have to wait patiently for the package for a couple of days. So fingers crossed it's the right one and I can finally finish the pouch.

In the meantime I'm working on other things, but that I hope to share in a few days.

Thanks for reading and see you soon!
